Custom Orders

One of my favorite things to do is create something original for a specific person, whether it be a gift for a loved one or a custom design for a client.  Accepting (and encouraging!) custom orders allows me to offer up all sorts of items, not just ones for sale in my shop.

If you're looking for something knitted, crocheted, or embroidered, let's chat!  See a picture or a pattern for something you crave?  Send it along and I'll figure out how to make it.  Have a vision for a gift, but can't find exactly what you want in the stores?  Describe your idea and we'll work together to design it.  

Custom orders are priced based on the cost of materials, complexity of design, and estimated creation time.  Each item is handcrafted by me and takes priority over other projects.

Below are a few examples of custom orders to spark the imagination . . .

Golden Girls

In Spring 2015, a Golden Girls crochet pattern went viral over Facebook and everyone wanted to know where to find the dolls.  I sent a complete set to Canada as a birthday present from one best friend to another.  

The dolls are available separately or as a set.  Each one is extremely detailed and realistic, down to facial expressions, clothing and accessories.   

Alien Autopsy

These five aliens that have been cut open for an autopsy traveled to Nebraska to be exhibited on autopsy pans and given as gifts.  The little knitted guys are cute and creepy at the same time.  

Blankets and Afghans

In my opinion, one of the best keepsakes that can be given is a handcrafted blanket or afghan.  There are so many wonderful patterns out there that it's difficult to choose which one to knit or crochet next!  Blankets and afghans can be made in any color combination or size.  

Christmas Stocking

The below Christmas stocking was recreated from a series of photos for a little boy in Kentucky.  Everyone in his family has a personalized stocking that looks like his.  His mom contacted me to make his stocking because the creator of the original set of stockings no longer knits.

This is a great example of how an heirloom stocking or other knitted item can be recreated for future generations.  Also, Christmas stockings can be made with one's favorite winter images, sayings and colors.

Embroidery

Although most of my custom orders are knitted or crocheted, I also offer embroidered items as a possibility.  From practical items like tea towels and aprons to fine art pieces ready to be framed, I can embroider a piece that will be cherished.

Flower Fairy

This beautiful flower fairy is a doll fit for a princess.  Her clothing and jewelry are all removable and include a jacket, dress, shoes, flower crown, and assorted accessories.  The white wings are lacy and make her look like she could really fly away.  The black locks are thick and luscious, using an entire skein of yarn.  

Winter Accessories

One can never have enough winter accessories.  Over the years, I have created countless scarves, hats, shawls, and hats in all shapes, colors, and patterns.
